Roy Elkins, Founder and CEO of Broadjam, Founder and CEO of Between the Waves Music Conference and Festival, Chairman of the Madison Area Music Association and world-famous keyboard technician will give a free presentation at DreamBank in the new Spark building (next to the Sylvee) this Tuesday, July 23rd as part of DreamBank’s Think and Explore series.
Elkins will cover a range of topics including developing a skill set in order to function in the industry; how to thrive and compete in your local market; placing music in film and tv and a song development segment he calls “50 songs you should write.” [and probably some you shouldn’t – Ed.]
Elkins travels the nation giving similar presentations and is looking to make this a series should there be enough interest. If you know Elkins and the myriad of activities he pursues, you know how generous this opportunity is. Elkins has a genuine interest in seeing Madison artists succeed.
Future presentations would focus on subjects such as how labels work, the ins-and-outs of music publishing, music contracts, etc.
This is an opportunity to get information on topics, that for many musicians, you just can’t hear enough times.
