Celebrate the Waters , an event featuring Grammy Award winning artist Bill Miller will take place on July 10. It kicks off three days of events to bless and honor the sacred waters. The group is searching for local artists to participate in a large-scale performance piece as part of the event. Below is the copy of an invitation that Local Sounds Magazine has been asked to help broadcast.

Dear Wisconsin Musicians and Singers,

Inspired by the collective efforts of many musicians and singers who came together and recorded “We Are The World,” The Lake Monona Water Walk team wishes to invite you to collaborate on a LIVE performance of “With My Own Two Hands” by Jack Johnson and Ben Harper. We will perform the collaboration on Friday, July 10th at the Bill Miller: In Concert for Water with Local Musicians and Special Guests musical tribute to kick off the 2015 Lake Monona Water Walk weekend of festivities. The concert will be held at the Monona Grove High School Performing Arts Center.

Rehearsal will be held on Tuesdays, June 23rd, 30th and on July 7th in Monona at 4Pillars4Health EcoSpace, 6020 Kristi Circle, 8:00-10:00 PM. It is not necessary to attend every rehearsal but it would be wonderful if it is possible.

Our rehearsals and musical presentation will be coordinated by Pete Calgaro, Audio/Visual Director at NBC 15 and Music Director at Unity of Madison. Acoustic instruments are preferred but not exclusively and all ranges of voices are needed.

Our concert headliner, Bill Miller, is a three-time Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter and we are absolutely thrilled to have him here with us for the special event. The opportunity to perform with him and meet him is awesome!

Monona Mayor Bob Miller and other special guests will be joining us throughout the concert to share their support for the Water Walk and their passion for Water.

Our goal is to raise public awareness for the Lake Monona Water Water Walk, to inspire stewardship of our local watershed and to incite appreciation for all the waters around the globe during this very real current global water Crisis.

This is a multi-generational gathering and families; friends and kids are warmly invited to attend the concert. A suggested fundraising concert donation of $10-$40 will be encouraged at the door to help cover the operating expenses of the Lake Monona Water Walk and the concert itself.

Check out “With My Own Two Hands” on YouTube. Lyrics with chords are available at by googling the song title. We hope to inspire and mold a great improvisational collaboration and we look forward to meeting you and your musical gifts.

Friday, July 10th, 2015: 4:00 Rehearsal Call, 5:00 Sound Check, 7:00 Performance, Concert will end by 10:00 P.M.
