Anna Laube’s Pledge Music Campaign: Still Time to Become a Supporter
Madison’s Anna Laube has taken over four years to get her third album recorded but the time between has been full of discoveries. Anna Laube’s Superband Album is scheduled for a March 2015 release and there is still time to become a supporter via her Pledge Music crowdfunding campaign. Laube has until December 7 to hit her goal and as of this writing she is at 94%.
“One of the many reasons I chose to do Pledge Music was because they don’t make the dollars a big deal,” says Laube. “Instead they focus on the percentage and updates, which I prefer.”
Not all the campaign’s proceeds will help cover production and manufacturing costs. 7% of the money raised will go to the very worthwhile Girls Rock Camp organization. Laube has been an instructor with GRC and the Pledge Music Video for the project features several clips of the organization in action. Laube has also lent her talents to other nonprofits including Food Not Bombs, Porchlight, Inc., Second Harvest Food Bank, and the REACH-A-Child Foundation.
Laube has spent a lot of time touring and networking and those efforts are paying off in the recording sessions for the Superband album which could be described as an “All-American” experience. Most of the basic tracks were done in San Francisco with vocals being recorded in Los Angeles. Other sessions have taken place in Nashville, Brooklyn and, of course, Madison. Multiple engineers and producers have lent their skills to the project. Several of the tracks were mixed by Brandon Eggleston in Portland who has worked with tUnEyArDs, Modest Mouse and others.
While in Brooklyn, Laube did a session with Leo Sidran and Nadim Issa resulting in three completed tracks that will appear on the album. The first single “Oh My! (Oh Me Oh Me Oh My!) has been posted to the Pledge Music page and this track features the keyboard talents of Chuck Leavell who has been a member of the Allman Brothers Band and Sea Level while recording with the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Gov’t Mule and John Mayer.
The tracklist for Superband is as follows, but the exact order has not been determined yet:

Sugarcane
This One’s for You

Satisfied Mind
Oh My! (Oh Me Oh Me Oh My!)
The Bike Song
Sweet Boy from Minnesota
