Mad Toast Live! Has Great Lineup for November;
All Shows at the Brink Lounge
For four-and-a-half years now Madison musicians Chris Wagoner and Mary Gaines have tirelessly supported madison-area musicians with their Mad Toast Live! performance and podcasts. The show was started in May of 2008 and was exclusively held at the Brink Lounge in Madison. Eight months later the hosts teamed up with Andrew LaValley of Bear Sound to broadcast the show over the internet and as a podcast. In July of 2009, the show was picked up by WORT 89.9FM. In 2011 our very own Local Sounds Radio added the show to its lineup, airing Monday through Friday at noon. Two episodes are aired each week from midnight to 2am on Saturday. The show still takes place at the Brink Lounge but also at other venues in the area.
Brandon Beebe
On November 6th Mad Toast Live! will feature an appearance by Brandon Beebe, winner of the 2012 MAMA for New Artist of the Year. You can read our review of Beebe’s excellent debut CD here. Also featured in this episode are Field & James (Field Stark and James Eisele). This duo recently released a new recording, I Get the Best of You.
On November 10th, Mad Toast Live! joins forces with Madison Music Collective, WORT, Liliana’s and Ward Brodt Music to present “Jazz on a Sunday” with Luke Polipnick and Friends. This event also features an Improvisational Music Workshop.
Adventurous guitarist Luke Polipnick returns to Madison with a group of top improvisers from NYC (drummer Mike Pride) and the Twin Cities (saxophonist Brandon Wozniak and bassist Adam Linz) to kick off a Fall Midwest tour. The group wil perform new music composed for the tour by Luke featuring thematic material from folksy to rocking but rooted in jazz, appealing to fans of post rock. folk, reggae, free improvisation and mainstream jazz.
Concert at 3:30 pm, followed by Improv Music Workshop at 6pm
$15 at the door / $12 advance

Mark Adkins of Subvocal
On November 20th a special performance by Subvocal. Subvocal has just completed a successful Kickstarter campaign and will be recording a new album at DNA Studios for release in 2013. mark Adkins is very excited about the new material and has been energized by the support he received from the Kickstarter project. Subvocal’s new album entitled Black is sure to be a highlight of local music next year and is a long overdue follow-up to their first studio album Nikki’s Roomwhich is widely regarded as one of the finest recordings to come out of the area. Also featured in this episode is Dakota Windancer from Oregon, Wisconsin. Dakota Windancer is best described as a “Man of Spirit” , with gifts of spiritual wealth to share. Dakota’s earliest experiences with non-ordinary reality began as a teenager, when he survived electrocution while working on his Dad’s farm.
